Rock Island Bridge is a rehabilitated 1905 railroad span over the Kansas River that now hosts River House restaurant, bars, public spaces and private event areas 60 feet above the water. The bi?state landmark anchors the West Bottoms next to Hy?Vee Arena and can host whole?bridge events up to 1,400 guests (with a covered American Royal Hall accommodating up to 325 standing), making it a distinctive gathering spot amid historic warehouses.

Entry is from the east (Hy?Vee/Kemper side). Free parallel street parking is available on American Royal Dr, with paid parking nearby at the West Bottoms Garage, 1601 State Line Rd.

Public transit

RideKC bus Route 12 (12th Street) serves the West Bottoms area with stops near 12th & Jefferson; from there or the KC Streetcar (River Market/Union Station), it’s a short transfer or rideshare to the bridge’s east entrance.
